General Job Description

The Support Navigator is responsible for providing direct services to parents participating in the FamilyLife family support program. Developing positive relationships with parents is vital to the success of this role. Direct services will include family and life skills support and education, information/referral services, and assisting families as they shop for their material assistance items. Administrative duties include participating in the development team and event coordination. Other duties may apply.

Qualifications

  • Able and willing to demonstrate personal commitment to the mission, values, and beliefs of FamilyLife Network, Inc. in the execution of all position responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of work or volunteer experience in a social service setting with knowledge of child development, family systems, and local resources
  • Adaptable, organized, and self-motivated; proficient in the use of online systems
  • Current PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (renewed within the past 1 year, required upon start date)
  • Completed Mandated Reporter Training 

Schedule

  • Part Time, 24 hours per week
  • Onsite

Duties and Responsibilities

Direct Service

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Complete intake assessments as assigned
  • Assist clients with creating strengths-based goals and monitor progress toward those goals
  • Develop trusting, constructive relationships with caregivers to provide whole family support, education, and coordinated services
  • Assist, mentor, and refer clients as necessary and appropriate
  • Provide pregnancy, parenting, and/or life skills education to clients not in need of support sessions
  • Facilitate support groups and group educational seminars

Administrative Support

  • Accurately document session notes and pertinent client information in the database within approved time frames
  • Assist the Program Director with the training and supervision of program volunteers, as assigned
  • Attend staff/program meetings/trainings and participate in regular supervision 
  • Assist the Program Director with other tasks as assigned

Development/Event Coordination

  • Assist the administrative team with efforts in development and outreach
  • Assist the Director of Finance and Development in arranging and preparing for major organization events, such as fundraising, private donor events, etc. 
  • Work in conjunction with the Board of Directors for development purposes
  • Collaborate with other staff to create team building activities and events for organizational stakeholders (i.e. staff, volunteers, board members, donors, etc.)
  • Research/create groups, programs, activities, etc., to implement in the family support program for clients
  • Complete other development and outreach related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director, Director of Finance and Development, and/or Program Director
